Improve your skills, make new friends, be active with other kids and learn to love a sport at the Y!

Participating in sports at the Y is about building the whole child, from the inside out. Our core values of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring are a part of every sport we offer. Our sports staff, coaches and volunteers all help youth reach their full potential in life. We leverage the excitement and passion around recreational and competitive programming to create a healthy outlet for children to gain new skills, develop a sense of team and connect with positive role models.

YMCA youth sports provide opportunities for camaraderie, building skills and character development. We aim to keep kids moving and focus on their health and well-being.

+ Youth Basketball Programs

ages 3–14 years

Join the fun of basketball with the organization that helped create the sport!

In addition to being fun, playing has many physical and mental benefits. Basketball provides a good cardiovascular workout by building endurance and increasing both speed and agility. This team sport also improves concentration and self-discipline while enhancing self-confidence.

+ Youth Volleyball Programs

ages 7–14 years

The Y offers a variety of volleyball programs that are guaranteed to serve up a fun time!

Learn the fundamentals of serving, bumping, and setting in a fun atmosphere. Volleyball promotes sportsmanship and teamwork as well as individual development. Volleyball is a sport that has many health benefits which include strengthening the cardiovascular and respiratory systems as well as improving hand-eye coordination.

+ Youth Soccer Programs

ages 2+ years

Soccer is a team sport that’s a great way for kids to have fun while learning sportsmanship and teamwork.

Soccer helps kids build endurance, increase muscle tone and bone strength, and promote heart health. Kids will learn the basics of soccer in a safe and fun environment. They’ll be taught how to properly kick, run, and attack the goal. Traditional soccer is played outdoors, and factors like field size and the number of players on the field vary based on age groups.

+ Youth T-ball Programs

ages 3–6 years

Youth T-ball at the Y is a great opportunity for children to learn the basics of t-ball in an exciting, supportive environment.

Children will learn how to catch, throw, and hit the ball off a hitting tee. The focus of these leagues is to have fun, meet new friends, and play in a non-competitive space.

Sports Training (Ages 8 - 18)

Take your game to the next level! We offer private, one-on-one, basketball & volleyball training for children ages 8 and up. Sessions will be designed according to players’ abilities and goals, allowing for targeted skill refinement and maximum progression. Training sessions will be conducted by YMCA Sports Director, Richard Tamer, during open gym times upon availability.

Make a difference in a child's life by sponsoring a youth sport program today! Each year, thousands of area youths participate in sports leagues at the YMCA. When kids play sports they do more than just exercise. Besides being physically active, they develop higher self-esteem, perform better in school and work better in groups. Youth sports leagues at the Y teach kids the fundamentals of the game while emphasizing the importance of teamwork.
