Rock Steady Boxing
Rock Steady Boxing to provide an innovative approach to combating Parkinson's. By combining boxing training with specific exercises for Parkinson's, studies have shown that symptoms can be reversed, reduced, or delayed. Boxing engages the body in various movements and continuously adapts the workout routine.
To sign up, follow these simple steps:
1. Submit a medical release form signed by your physician (link below)
2. Complete an assessment request form at the membership desk.
3. Observe a class to ensure it's the right fit for you.

Program Details:
- Evidence-based program
- Supportive environment
- Led by certified Rock Steady Boxing coaches
- Two 60-minute classes per week
- Non-contact boxing drills
- Conditioning exercises for optimal muscular endurance, agility, hand-eye coordination and overall strength
- Emphasis on gross motor movement, balance, core strength, posture and gait
- Regular physical and cognitive assessments

Discover Parkinson’s Power Hour, a comprehensive fitness class designed specifically for individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease.
Our one-hour sessions offer a comprehensive workout that combines cardiovascular benefits, resistance training, and boxing techniques to improve your overall health and well-being. Our experienced instructors provide personalized guidance and support throughout the class, helping you achieve your goals in a supportive and inclusive environment. Our program is specifically designed to address the unique needs of people with Parkinson’s, incorporating aerobic activity, strength training, balance, agility, multitasking, and stretching.

PWR! Moves
A seated Parkinson-specific exercise class that “makes function exercise” to keep you moving and doing more of what you want to do! As you practice, you will be challenged physically and cognitively while working on fitness goals: strength, balance, agility, aerobics, and flexibility. Exercises are designed to improve your fitness, counteract your PD symptoms and increase your daily activity. This whole body, function-focused exercise class will push you to do more than you think you can in a fun, empowering, and enriched environment!
The classes are led by a PWR! Moves Certified Instructor.

YMCA SMARTfit Parkinson’s Rehab Intervention Program
The YMCA SMARTfit Parkinson’s rehab intervention program is designed to address motor coordination and vestibular health. The program combines movement with cognitive tasks in a playful way, that lead to better motor and cognitive functions.

Support Group for Caretakers
The YMCA of Collier County, in association with the Parkinson’s Association of Southwest Florida, will offer a support group for individuals and families who are impacted by Parkinson’s Disease and related illness.
Please join us for this weekly gathering to experience warmth, understanding and support. Caregiving can be an isolating experience, but you are not alone in this challenge. Being able to talk to others who truly understand what you are going through can help reduce stress, validates your experience, and provides a sense of connection.
Participation is open to all members of the Parkinson’s Association of Southwest Florida. Membership, and access to these sessions, is FREE. The membership application is online at www.ParkinsonAssociationSWFL.org. It takes about 10 minutes to complete.
